AFFILIATED CLUBS

PNG’s original game fishing club and one of the founding members of the GFAPNG. Based in the nation’s capital, PMGFC runs regular tournaments and is one of the most active clubs in the association.

Morobe Province’s premier game fishing club, based in PNG’s second largest city. The Huon Gulf provides excellent blue water access while nearby river systems offer freshwater species.

Home to the legendary marlin grounds of the north coast. Madang’s deep water close to shore has produced some of PNG’s most spectacular billfish catches, including the famous 121-hookup tournament. Known as the “prettiest town in the Pacific.”

Set against the dramatic volcanic backdrop of East New Britain, NBGFC offers spectacular fishing in the waters around Rabaul and Kokopo. The rich volcanic seabed creates an incredibly productive marine environment.

Proud hosts of the 49th GFA PNG National Game Fishing Titles in April 2026. Based in the world-class waters of Kimbe Bay, San Remo GFC benefits from one of the most biodiverse marine environments on the planet.

Remote and pristine, Lihir Island offers world-class fishing in waters that see very little pressure. An emerging destination for serious game fishers, the club is growing rapidly in both membership and tournament participation.

Based in Boroko, Port Moresby, the Boroko Sports Fishing Club practices both free release and tag and release fishing. Active in local competitions and a valued member of the GFA PNG network.
